Cast Iron Cookware Care Guide

Maintaining your cast iron cookware is NO PROBLEM!

We’ve already taken care of the purity, safety and durability of your cookware. Your cookware needs a little care for it to keep serving you for generations and it’s the minimum that you’ll need to do for good health when compared with other things

Below is how to care for your cast iron cookware

Usage guide

Your Bhumi Indica cookware comes pre-seasoned and ready to use out of the box. Just rinse it with water to get rid of any dust or other particles that might have gathered during transit and it’ll be ready for use.

We recommend that, if possible, try not to cook food involving acidic contents like vinegar, soya sauce, or lemon, etc. for the first few days as it might affect the seasoning.

Heat your cookware properly before cooking. Look for small fumes before you put in the food and adjust the temperature accordingly after that.

This video needs to show the types of foods that should and should not be cooked in the first few days, the use of oil or butter, metal spatula guidance, and the importance of continuing to use oil or butter as needed for the cookware to become truly non-stick.

Washing/Cleaning guide

We recommend that the utensil be washed with just water if there’s no food stuck on the cooking surface.

You can use any normal liquid detergent or a mild soap and a scrub to clean if there’s food stuck on the cooking surface. You can use steel wool if required, though we recommend keeping its usage to a minimum.

Storage Guide

After washing DO NOT leave your utensil wet or to air dry. Wipe it dry with a cloth and put it on a stove on a low to medium heat to dry out any moisture that may be left.

Do not put the utensil in a dish washer as it’s not compatible with that
